EGL Programs for Families

What happened to us?

  • More than 400 million active users on Facebook worldwide
  • Over 238,000,000 people watch television each day
  • The US has about 250 million cell phone subscribers
  • There are over one billion computers in use worldwide

In a world that has become increasingly complicated, crowded, noisy and technologically based, it is easy to become distracted and disconnected from what has true heart and meaning. We forget that life has both a rhythm and a calling.

Working with horses offers a unique opportunity to reconnect ourselves to ourselves, our families, and the world around us by slowing down, and being fully present in the moment. When we allow ourselves to be on ‘horse time’ we listen to our inner guidance, honor the wisdom coming through and deepen our appreciation for being fully alive.

"Alyssa has a directness, warmth and integrity in how she engages the teenagers that I found impressive and refreshing—it speaks volumes about her personal power, compassion and wisdom. Her genuine interest in teens made me feel immediate trust to let my daughter participate in the program with my full support"...

— Jane K. parent of participant Tara K. Age 13

The workshop last weekend was very challenging and memorable. It is really powerful and different than anything I'd ever done before, and it works if you work it. Did I say challenging? I also had so much fun and met some great people. I highly recommend it.

— S. Leathers, Horse Sense for Teen Leadership™ participant
